Sofra Grill located in Thornhill, Ontario is looking for full-time Turkish Fusion Chefs with a minimum of 3 years experience. Duties include cooking grilled meats using traditional methods, including chicken shish kebab, lamb shish kebab, adana kebab, beef kebabs, kofte, and doner/shawarma cooked on a vertical rotisserie; preparing classic Turkish and Mediterranean meze and appetizers such as hummus, baba ghanoush, haydari, ezme, cacik, stuffed grape leaves, lentil kofte, sigara boregi, and fresh daily dips; fusing and developing new menus that merge Turkish heritage with local flavors; preparing handmade Turkish breads such as pide, lavash, and stone-baked pitas; applying scientific techniques – such as spherification, foam creation, and liquid nitrogen freezing – to traditional Turkish flavors, transforming textures while maintaining familiar tastes; preparing lahmacun, Turkish-style pizzas, and oven-baked specialties; preparing, cooking, and plating dishes with precision and artistic presentation, maintaining high standards of food quality. $36 per hour.
