Personal Support Worker – Private Home Full Time NEW

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible
Duration: 1-year full-time contract
Hours: 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday (* some evening/weekend work required)
Work Setting: private home
Languages: English essential
Requirements:
• Some secondary school
• Completion of a training program in care of the elderly, care of persons with disabilities, convalescent care or in a related field
• First Aid/CPR certification
• 1+ year of prior experience working in home care or a related field
• Ability to pass a background check and provide professional references
• English language ability
Duties:
• Providing care, companionship and emotional support
• Preparing meals consistent with specific dietary requirements
• Providing mobility assistance, including helping client to move around home safely
• Assisting with daily living activities in which client requires support, such as shopping
• Assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming and dishwashing
• Assist in pet care (rescue dog)
Personal suitability: Initiative; reliability; organization; flexibility. Must be comfortable with large dog.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks; Work under pressure; Physically demanding.
