Job Duties
The nanny will be responsible for providing high-quality care to three children aged 3, 5, and
8 years old in a private household. The parents are both physicians with shift work schedules,
requiring reliable and flexible childcare support. Thus, the role requires flexibility to meet
the family’s needs, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts,
and holidays.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise and care for three children in the employer’s residence, ensuring their safety
and well-being at all times
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the children according to dietary
requirements and schedules
Bathe, dress, and assist children with personal hygiene and grooming
Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment in the home for the children
Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, including
games, crafts, reading, and outdoor play
Support the children’s emotional well-being and social development through positive
interaction and guidance
Discipline children according to methods and guidelines established by the parents
Take children to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities as
needed
Oversee children’s daily routines, including meal times, homework, and rest periods
Perform light housekeeping duties related to childcare, such as tidying children’s
rooms, doing children’s laundry, and cleaning play areas
Keep records of daily activities, developmental milestones, and any health concerns
Communicate regularly with parents about children’s progress, behavior, and needs
Required Qualifications
Education:
Completion of secondary school (high school diploma)
Completion of a training program in child care, early childhood education, or a related
field is preferred but not required
Experience:
Experience as a nanny, babysitter, daycare worker, or similar role is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to care for multiple children simultaneously.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written)
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Patient, nurturing, reliable, organized and responsible personality
Physical ability to lift and carry children, play actively, and perform household tasks
Flexibility to accommodate parents’ shift work schedules
Valid driver’s license is an asset but not required
