We pride ourselves in providing a variety of fresh products to our customers. Our Meat Department contributes a large part to this by providing our customers with high grade tender cuts of meat.
Job Duties:
• Grind, slice, and prepare raw and cooked meats using commercial grinders, slicers, and related equipment
• Cut, weigh, package, label, and price meat, meat products, fish, and seafood for retail sale
• Prepare a variety of products for the Fresh Market Foods Gourmet Meats counter in accordance with production requirements
• Follow daily production sheets to ensure adequate product availability and minimize waste
• Monitor meat and seafood display and restock as required throughout the day
• Recommend complementary or alternative meat and seafood products to customers
• Inspect product quality, check expiry dates, and ensure proper rotation of stock (FIFO method)
• Receive, handle, and store meat and seafood products according to company food safety and sanitation standards
• Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment
• Notify management when inventory or supplies are low to ensure timely reordering
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide product information to support a positive customer experience
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition
Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school (high school) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in meat cutting, butchery, or a related food processing role
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and handle refrigerated conditions
• Strong attention to detail and product quality standards
Language of Work: English (Bilingual – French/English is an asset)
Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $21.00/hour – $27.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period.
