Maintenance Helper Full Time NEW

The Maintenance Helper position is intended to support maintenance activities within a seafood processing facility.

The individual is responsible to some or all of the following tasks:
• Move tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas
• Assist in repairing, maintaining and installing industrial machinery and equipment
• Assist in repairing and maintaining stationary electric power generating and distribution equipment
• Help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed
• Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment, operation, repair and maintenance.
• Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
• Set up and operate machines to can, bag, box or otherwise package fish and seafood products
• Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish or seafood products
• Perform other labouring and elemental tasks, including the use of powered equipment, as required.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Certificates: Total Productive Maintenance Certificate and Forklift Training Certificate
Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience with seafood processing machinery and equipment
Language: English/French

Terms of Employment: Full-time, 30 to 35 hours per week
Tentative Start Date of Employment: March/April 2027
Security and Safety: Bondable, Driving Record Check (Abstract) and Criminal record Check
Work Site Environment: Noisy, Odours, Hot, Cold, Wet/damp
