Main Duties
• Determine and establish office procedures and routines
• Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
• Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Maintain filing system
• Collecting information from clients and preparing documents for residential real estate conveyancing (sales, purchases, family transfers & mortgage transactions)
• Drafting wills and other personal planning documents (Powers of Attorney and Representation Agreements)
• Assistance with other general notary services
• Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information
Requirements
• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
• 1-2 years work experience is an asset
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Attention to detail is a must
• Ability to communicate in English
Benefits
• $28.25 hourly for 35 hours a week
• Overtime over 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
• 2 weeks paid vacation
• Permanent full-time position
