The Lead Hand – Architectural Millwork Installer is responsible for the installation of custom architectural millwork and the on-site coordination of a small installation crew. This role involves both hands-on installation work and day-to-day oversight of installation activities on construction sites.
Main Duties
1. Install, assemble, and fit custom architectural millwork components at commercial and institutional construction sites.
2. Read and interpret shop drawings, architectural drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
3. Lead and coordinate a crew of 2 to 4 installers by assigning tasks and monitoring work progress.
4. Plan and organize installation activities in coordination with the site superintendent and other trades.
5. Measure and verify site conditions prior to installation to ensure proper fit and alignment of millwork components.
6. Inspect completed installations to ensure quality standards and project specifications are met.
7. Identify installation issues and perform minor adjustments or modifications on-site as required.
8. Communicate with project management regarding site conditions, deficiencies, and progress updates.
