Schutz Canada Ltd. is expanding our construction and telecommunications civil division and is seeking a reliable, hands‑on Working Foreman (Carpentry / Electrical) to lead small field crews on commercial, industrial, and utility projects. This role combines leadership, skilled carpentry, electrical installation support, and active field labour. The Foreman works directly on site, ensures safe and efficient operations, and supports the successful completion of foundations, utility installations, and electrical service work.
This position is ideal for a tradesperson who can lead by example, maintain high workmanship standards, and coordinate daily tasks with management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a 2–5 person field crew on construction and telecom civil projects.
Perform hands‑on carpentry tasks including formwork, framing, rebar placement, and concrete foundation preparation.
Assist with electrical installations, service upgrades, conduit placement, grounding, and equipment mounting.
Interpret drawings, site plans, and specifications to organize daily work activities.
Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and site logistics.
Operate equipment such as skid steers, mini‑excavators, compactors, and power tools.
Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and code requirements.
Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and toolbox meetings.
Communicate progress, issues, and requirements to management.
Train and mentor crew members to improve productivity and workmanship.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
Support concrete pours, trenching, utility installation, and telecom tower foundation work as required.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in construction, carpentry, electrical installation, or related trades.
Previous experience as a Lead Hand, Foreman, or Crew Leader is an asset.
Strong knowledge of formwork, framing, concrete foundations, and utility installation.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical diagrams.
Competence operating small equipment (skid steer, mini‑excavator, etc.).
Understanding of electrical safety, grounding, conduit installation, and service work.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s licence; reliable transportation to job sites.
Safety certifications (WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid) are an asset.
Work Conditions
