Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Window Covering Installer to measure, install, service, and coordinate custom window covering projects for residential and commercial clients.
The position requires strong technical installation skills, accurate site measurement, customer-facing communication, safe handling of products and equipment, and the ability to work independently on complex installation assignments. The role may include high-rise residential and commercial projects, elevated ladder work, out-of-town travel, product transportation, installation, final adjustment, customer walkthrough, and successful job handover.

Main Duties
• Measure and assess installation sites for blinds, shades, shutters, and related systems
• Review work orders and specifications to determine installation requirements
• Install, adjust, and service manual and motorized window coverings
• Inspect sites to confirm measurements, mounting conditions, and product suitability
• Identify and report installation, product, or measurement issues
• Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment safely
• Perform installations in residential and commercial settings, including high-rise buildings
• Work at heights using ladders and follow safety procedures
• Travel to job sites and complete installations independently when required
• Communicate with customers and ensure quality service and proper product use
• Complete job documentation and maintain tools and equipment

Employment Requirements
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in window covering installation, residential/commercial installation, interior finishing installation, or a closely related field.
• Secondary school education
• Experience measuring for custom installations and working with detailed measurements.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, drawings, product specifications, and installation instructions.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and accurately.
• Strong spoken English and customer service skills for dealing directly with clients, supervisors, building staff, and team members.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and ability to travel to client sites throughout Metro Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and other areas of British Columbia when required.
• Ability and willingness to travel independently to out-of-town job sites, including Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, and other areas of British Columbia.
• Ability to manage individual out-of-town assignments, including driving, product handling, installation, customer communication, and final job completion.
• Ability to work safely on high ladders and elevated installation areas.
• Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload items weighing up to 30 kg safely when required.
• Ability to work independently at client sites and solve installation-related problems on site.
• Attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct.
Assets
• Experience with high-rise residential or commercial building projects.
• Experience with motorized blinds, shades, shutters, drapery tracks, or smart-home/window covering systems.
• Experience preparing installation cost estimates or service quotations.
• Experience coordinating with production, scheduling, delivery, or quality control teams.
• Experience training, guiding, or supervising junior installers/helpers.
• Familiarity with residential and commercial client service standards.
• A Class 4 licence is considered an asset.
