Position: Transportation Manager

Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $51 CAD to $55 CAD per hour
Company Overview:
Trilink Logistics is a leading logistics and transportation service provider dedicated to delivering innovative and efficient solutions to meet client needs. We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize our fleet operations at our Bolton, ON location.
Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations Management:
Plan, organize, and manage fleet operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods.
Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Monitor fleet usage, fuel consumption, and vehicle mileage to optimize operational efficiency.
Staff Supervision and Coordination:
Recruit, train, and manage drivers and support staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
Assign and schedule drivers for deliveries and pickups based on route optimization.
Monitor driver performance and enforce adherence to schedules, safety standards, and customer service requirements.
Route Planning and Optimization:
Develop and implement strategies to optimize delivery routes, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
Adjust schedules to address traffic, weather, or other unforeseen challenges.
Budget and Cost Management:
Prepare and manage budgets for fleet operations, including fuel, maintenance, and staffing.
Analyze operational expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
Negotiate contracts with vendors for fuel, maintenance, and vehicle purchases or leases.
Compliance and Safety Management:
Ensure fleet operations comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
Maintain records of vehicle inspections, permits, and driver certifications.
Conduct regular safety training and enforce safe driving practices.
Reporting and Analytics:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including delivery times, costs, and fleet utilization.
Prepare detailed performance reports and identify areas for improvement.
Customer Service:
Communicate with clients to understand delivery requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
Address and resolve customer inquiries and delivery issues promptly.
Technology Integration:
Implement and manage fleet management systems to monitor vehicles, track deliveries, and optimize operations.
Stay updated on advancements in transportation technologies, including fuel-efficient vehicles and telematics.
Risk and Emergency Management:
Develop contingency plans for emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns or route disruptions.
Coordinate responses to accidents, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
Requirements:
Education: College diploma or university degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in transportation management or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of logistics operations, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Proficiency in logistics software and fleet management tools.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to manage staff and liaise with clients effectively.
