Doc Morgan’s Restaurant and Pub is a renowned establishment on Bowen Island, known for its exquisite culinary experiences and exceptional service. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our fast paced and dynamic team. Principal responsiblities of our Sous Chef is to
prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, and prepare and cook meals or specialty foods. Our priority is to hire Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Job Description:
As a Sous Chef at Doc Morgan’s, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision. You will ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Your duties will include:
Overseeing food preparation and cooking activities.
Managing kitchen staff, including scheduling and training.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
Supervising food quality and presentation.
Creating and implementing new culinary techniques and recipes.
Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service.
Managing kitchen cleanliness and organization.
Assisting in the development and execution of special events and catering.

Qualifications:
We are willing to train individuals who have some kitchen experience!
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Creativity and a passion for culinary arts.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
