Seasonal Farm Workers are needed at Factors Laboratories for the 2025 season. Positions start in March 2025 and end approximately November 30, 2025 (end date will be determined based on the length of the harvest season). These positions are located at 6741 Hwy 97 North in Kelowna, BC, and 695 Otter Lake Road in Armstrong, BC. Must be available Monday to Saturday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Minimum of 40 hours per week. Job Summary:
The Seasonal Farm Worker cares for all agricultural duties to ensure the growth of high-quality medicinal herbs and plants and takes into consideration the company’s commitment to sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Seeding in greenhouse
• Planting seedlings in the ground (at both Kelowna and Armstrong farms)
• Weeding, tending to plants, tilling, and fertilizing
• Mixing soil and fertilizer
• Installing irrigation systems
• Laying down fabric for weed control
• Watering crops using irrigation system
• Cultivating crops
• Hand picking crops
• Loading trucks for delivery
• Other duties to support the healthy growth of our plants as assigned
Requirements:
• Capable to perform all job duties including frequent walking and standing, squatting, bending, and kneeling, frequent twisting, reaching above shoulder level, below shoulder level, and below chest level, lifting up to 30kgs, and the ability to work in hot, cold, indoor and outdoor environments
• Strong work ethic
• Capable of and willing to take direction
• Ability to work independently at times
• Experience with the following will be considered an asset:
o Farming
o Operating farming equipment (including tractors, loaders, etc.)
o Set up, operate and troubleshooting of irrigation systems
