Zapoteca Mexican Grill & Seafood is looking for an experienced restaurant manager. Bring your best attitude and positive energy to our culinary destination on the iconic White Rock beachfront.
Position: Restaurant Manager
Duties
• Oversee and manage all aspects of operations for a restaurant, bar, cafeteria, or other food and beverage establishment.
• Decide on the range of services offered and establish efficient operational procedures.
• Hire employees and supervise their onboarding and training.
• Create staff schedules and regularly assess employee performance.
• Prepare daily sales reports and complete accurate data entry.
• Manage inventory levels, track revenues, and adjust procedures and pricing as needed.
• Handle purchasing responsibilities, including weekly stock collection and delivery to the restaurant.Note this position is the emergency contact for building maintenance and security issues 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This duty may include onsite attendance or coordination with emergency service providers in offsite hours.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2-3 years in supervisory experience in the food service industry. Previous experience in preparing Mexican traditional foods would be an advantage.
• Minimum 1 year kitchen experience required as a line cook or higher position.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a bartender in a high-volume environment.
• Class 5 Drivers License and insured vehicle in good working condition required.
• Previous experience with Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, TouchBistro POS, Tock, Square, Payment terminal reconciliation experience is required.
• Previous experience in Payroll processing and BC Employment Standards.
• Previous experience with WorkSafeBC policy and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with mobile Apple devices, social media and food photography.
• Ability to work quickly and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to communicate in English. Fluent spoken and written Spanish is also an asset but not required.
• Completion of college program in a related field is preferred.
• Food safety certification (required).
• Serving It Right certification (required).
• Basic First Aid – Level 1 (required).
• Must be physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs frequently and work in a warm and noisy environment.
Salary & Benefits
• $36.60 / Hour
• Minimum 30 hours per week
• 4% vacation pay, and gratuities
