Job Description

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience is required

A university degree in business administration, economics, supply chain management, or other relevant field of study

Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P.) designation is an asset.

Duties:

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the purchasing activities.

Develop purchasing policies and procedures and control purchasing department budget

Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers

Identify potential vendors of materials, equipment or suppliers based on project requirements

Evaluate cost and quality of goods or services

Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers

Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing

Work closely with the legal department to ensure contract terms are favorable to the company

Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials

Review and process claims against suppliers
