Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work site environment: Confined spaces. Hot.
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Experience and specialization:
• Surface preparation methods: Chemical techniques, Masking, Sandblasters
• Application methods: Hand-held spray guns
• Type of industry experience: Aviation and Aerospace industry
Job duties and responsibilities include:
• Clean work area
• Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Operate and control: electroplating equipment to coat metal, hot-dip metal plating equipment to galvanize metal and/or spray equipment to build up worn or damaged parts
• Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes
• Select appropriate paint or mix paints
• Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings
• Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Standing for extended periods.
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
