Maintenance Helper Full Time

The Maintenance Helper position ( with some duties as Plant Maintenance Worker) is intended to support maintenance activities within a seafood processing facility and/or associated housing accommodations.

The individual is responsible to some or all of the following tasks:
• Move tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas
• Assist in repairing, maintaining and installing industrial machinery and equipment
• Assist in repairing and maintaining stationary electric power generating and distribution equipment
• Help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed
• Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment, operation, repair and maintenance.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• Perform other labouring and elemental tasks, including the use of powered equipment, as required.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience with seafood processing machinery and equipment
Language: English/French

Terms of Employment: Full-time, 30 to 35 hours per week
Tentative Start Date of Employment: March/April 2027
Security and Safety: Bondable
Work Site Environment: Noisy, Odours, Hot, Cold, Wet/damp
