Logging Truck Driver Full Time

Martushev Logging Limited is looking for two (2) Logging Truck Drivers to add to our growing team! This position is a permanent full-time position based out of our Whitecourt, Alberta shop location and is in the English language.

Job duties:
• Operate a primarily tractor-trailer, long-combination vehicle and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 KG to transport logging material over long distances
• Plan logistics and obtain proper documentation for transporting goods and materials
• Perform pre-trip, during route, and post-trip inspection of vehicle and trailer including tires, lights, and turning signals, and brakes
• Ensure material is secured properly to flat decks in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting materials
• Obtain special permits and other documents required
• Produce and administer bills of lading and maintain logbooks
• Communicate with dispatcher and other drivers and logistics personnel where required using on-board computers and communication systems

Education requirements
• Completion of secondary school or equivalent
• Completion of MELT program or equivalent
• Class 1 drivers license

Work experience
• 3-5 years of direct transport driver experience
• Experience with winter road conditions and familiarity with Canadian roadways is an asset

Wage and hours: $36.00 per hour for 30-40 hours per week
