Live in Caregiver – Home Support Worker Full Time NEW

We are a family located in Southeast Calgary seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time caregiver for our two children: a 12-year-old son with special needs and a 6-year-old daughter with allergies.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday (split shift):
6:00 AM – 9:30 AM
2:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Wednesdays: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (full day)
Total: 32 to 42.5 hours per week (flexible)
During spring break, summer, Christmas holidays, and all non-instructional school days: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Occasional overtime on Friday evenings and weekends
Caregiver must be available on standby for immediate support or unexpected emergencies (e.g., early school pickup)

Compensation & Benefits:

$21.50 per hour
Paid half hour break
Overtime paid at 1.5× regular wage after 44 hours/week
Extended medical insurance provided
Optional live-in accommodation available at no charge (not a condition of employment)

Requirements:

Completion of secondary school (or equivalent)
Fluent in English
Minimum of 6 months of full-time caregiving experience
Must have experience working with children with disabilities and children with allergies

Responsibilities:

Supervise and care for children
Administer medications as required
Assist with bathing and personal hygiene
Feed or assist in feeding
Prepare and serve nutritious meals; cooking required
Maintain a safe and healthy home environment
Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning duties
Shop for food and household supplies
Support emotional well-being of children
Organize activities such as games, outings, and reading
Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
Discipline children according to parents’ methods
Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents’ absence
Pick up children to and from school and activities
Travel with family when needed and assist with childcare and household duties
