Heart’s Tavern (Kimberley, ON) is seeking an experienced sous chef to join our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
About Heart’s Tavern
– Opened Spring 2021, placing sixth in Air Canada enRoute’s 2022 list of Canada’s best new restaurants
– Regularly updated seasonal menus serving European fare with a focus on local suppliers (including our own garden)
– In house pickling, curing, smoking, butchery
– Wine cellar with a focus on independent suppliers and small scale producers
– Patio, dining room, wine cellar and bar seating

Languages: English
Education: Bachelor’s degreeor equivalent experience
Experience: 5 years or more
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities and Tasks
– Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
– Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
– Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
– Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
– Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
– Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
– Leading/instructing individuals
– Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
– Food safety/handling skills
– Maintain inventory of supplies
– Sharpen kitchen knives
– Supervisory Experience
– Create new recipes
– Supervision 5-15 people
