We able to provide a full range of civil construction services, some of which include: underground utility installations, repairs and maintenance, site grading, road works, in-stream works, mass wall construction, structural drainage and excavation.
Springline Construction Services Ltd. is a unionized company that prides itself in quality workmanship and an exemplary safety record. We are looking to hire a “Heavy Equipment Operator” to join our team.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
• Operate heavy equipment, particularly wheeled excavators, for civil construction tasks including trenching, grading, and excavation;
• Operate computer-controlled equipment and two-way radio equipment for internal on-site communication;
• Utilize attachments such as Engcon Rototilt for precision work in tight conditions;
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation;
• Operate GPS Machine Guidance systems, including uploading/downloading files, creating as-built records, and working to precise grades and surfaces;
• Use International Organization for Standardization (ISO) pattern joystick control;
• Safely work near live traffic and overhead hazards, following all site-specific safety protocols;
• Load, move, and place materials as required on the job site;
• Ability to read and interpret project plans;
• Other various construction site related activities.
Job requirements:
• Completion of Secondary Education;
• Completion of Industry course in heavy equipment operating;
• Internal company training certification is required;
• CSTS Certificate and Ground Disturbance Level 1 Program completion are required to be obtained during training period;
• Previous related work experience is an asset;
• Strong understanding of safety protocols, including trenches and heavy equipment;
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well with ground crew;
• Physically fit and able to perform hands-on work at various jobsite locations in the Lower Mainland.
