We able to provide a full range of civil construction services, some of which include: underground utility installations, repairs and maintenance, site grading, road works, in-stream works, mass wall construction, structural drainage and excavation.
Springline Construction Services Ltd. is a unionized company that prides itself in quality workmanship and an exemplary safety record. We are looking to hire a Foreman to join our team.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of heavy-equipment operators, pipe layers, labourers, and other crew members engaged in underground utility construction, including water, sanitary, and drainage projects;
• Assign daily duties, provide instructions, and monitor the crew’s work to ensure it is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications;
• Review project plans and work schedules, determine appropriate work methods, allocate labour and equipment, and coordinate activities with project managers and other site supervisors to meet project milestones;
• Monitor project progress, identify operational or construction-related problems, and recommend and implement solutions to improve productivity and keep the work on schedule;
• Requisition, organize, and coordinate the delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment required at the job site;
• Train and provide guidance to crew members regarding work procedures, equipment operation, company policies, and occupational health and safety requirements;
• Promote a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing site safety procedures and regulations, conducting safety inspections, toolbox meetings, training sessions, and worker orientations, and addressing identified hazards or safety incidents;
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project plans, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulations;
• Document daily construction activities and prepare progress, production, safety, incident, and other required reports;
• Other various construction related activities.
Job requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in civil construction, including working with heavy-equipment crews, excavation, underground utilities, water, sanitary, or drainage projects;
• Knowledge of safe work practices and applicable safety requirements, particularly for excavation, trenches, underground utilities, and heavy-equipment operations;
• Ability to supervise crew members (up to 10 people), assign tasks, provide clear instructions, and coordinate daily site activities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and work schedules;
• Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to monitor work quality, identify site-related problems, and recommend practical solutions;
• Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions and providing hands-on assistance when required;
• Willing and able to work at various job-site locations throughout the Lower Mainland;
• Valid driver`s licence, if required for travel between job sites.
