Health Care Aides Full Time

Adaptacare Personal Care Homes Inc is looking for three (3) compassionate, reliable, experienced, highly skilled Health Care Aides to care for our vulnerable senior and disabled residents in a congregate supportive facility setting. This position is guaranteed full-time, at 32 hours per week for a term/contract of 12 months with a strong possibility of becoming continuing full time employment pending review of job performance.

Preference given to candidates with recent 5 years or more relevant work experience caring for seniors in a congregate facility setting.

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities
Tasks
• Supply and empty bed pans
• Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse
• Serve meal trays and feed patients
• Weigh, lift, turn and position patients
• Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
• Supervise patients’ exercise routines
• Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas
• Maintain inventory of supplies
• Bathe, dress and groom patients
• Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
• Answer call signals to determine patients’ needs
• Collect specimens
• Administer first aid in emergency situations
Credentials
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
• MUST hold an Active registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta as a Health Care Aide
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR Certificate
• Health Care Aide Certificate
