General Farm Worker Full Time

• Assist in daily care of swine in assigned areas
• Assist in carrying out proper feed, water and ventilation systems and procedures for the well-being of the animals
• Assist in weaning piglets from sow herd and prepare rooms for washing and disinfection
• Assure humane animal handling at all times and proper moving of animals with provided Personal Protective Equipment
• Adhere to bio-security protocols at all times
• Assist with loading and counting weaned and culled pigs for shipping
• Duties vary slightly from ISO to sow to nursery to finisher sites, keeping animal care a priority
• Assist senior staff in detecting health problems in animals
• Keep barn in safe working conditions by completing and addressing maintenance.
• Report any health and safety issues or concerns to senior staff or management
• Execute day to day care techniques for the best comfort and health of the swine
• Adhere to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
