Job Details:
• Position: Farm Supervisor – Hay Crop Operations

• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours/week)
• Wage: $24.00/hour
• Vacation Pay: 4% of gross wages (equivalent to two weeks annually)
• Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Requirements:
• Languages: English
• Education: Secondary school completion required (agriculture training is an asset)
• Experience: 2+ years of farm operations experience (crop production/hay preferred); supervisory experience is an asset
• Work Conditions: Outdoor work in varying weather; physically demanding; ability to work early/extended hours during peak season
• Assets: Valid driver’s licence; experience operating farm machinery; basic mechanical aptitude; first aid considered an asset

Main Duties (Aligned to NOC 82030 – Farm Supervisors):
• Coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of farm workers and equipment operators involved in hay crop operations (field prep, seeding, irrigating if applicable, cutting, raking, baling, stacking, and storage).
• Supervise and oversee hay growing and harvesting activities, ensuring crop quality, proper timing, and efficient production targets.
• Develop work schedules and establish procedures; ensure farm safety, equipment safety, and biosecurity procedures are followed at all times.
• Supervise maintenance of farm infrastructure, equipment, and supplies (tractors, balers, mowers, rakes, wagons, storage areas); coordinate repairs and maintain readiness during harvest.
• Maintain quality control and production records such as field logs, harvest output, bale counts, storage conditions, equipment maintenance logs, and safety records.
• Participate in general farm duties as needed and operate farm machinery when required to support production and timelines.
