Experienced Restoration Carpenter Full Time
We are seeking a newcomer or newly immigrated skilled and reliable Carpenter with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience and Secondary (high) school diploma (or equivalent) to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of woodworking, construction methods, and safety practices. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, work location will vary, frequent and constant travel is required by the employee, operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely, ensure all work complies with building codes and safety standards.
Requirements: Minimum 5 years of professional carpentry experience, understanding of construction techniques and materials, read and interpret technical documents, proficiency with power tools, valid driver’s license (preferred).
Tasks: tasks will include reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and sketches for specific calculation requirements to measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials. Constructing foundations, floor beams, and erecting walls and roof framing. Additionally, must be prepared to fit and install window frames, doors, stairs, moldings and other floor and ceiling hardware. Employee must be able to coordinate with co-workers, other contractors and homeowners for building plans or project adjustments.
Work location will vary throughout the GTA and traveling to different job sites is a requirement. Own transportation required.
Work Site Environment: construction sites, full safety equipment required, loud and dusty conditions, working at heights. Commercial, industrial and residential locations.
Estimated 40h/week work, employment conditions can be weekdays and weekends.
