Experienced Benderman -Rebar Fabricator Full Time

Duties include:
-Operate a rebar shear line and/or rebar bending equipment;
-Read cutting and/or bending sheets or follow verbal instructions;
-Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy rebar fabrication machines such as shears, table benders, automated rebar benders, and other hand tools to cut, bend and handle rebar, fabricating to requirements from stock material;
-Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications;
-Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs;
-May select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist;
-May document work completed;
-May clean or lubricate equipment and replace parts as required;
-Work around and with overhead cranes, and mobile equipment, such as forklifts.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
-Previous experience fabricating reinforcing steel in a shop environment (2 years minimum)
-Ability to read and interpret rebar shop drawings and bending schedules
-Experience operating rebar fabrication machinery (shear line, bender, cutters)
-Able to identify the different sizes, lengths and bend types of rebar
-Able to perform physical work like packing rebar, snap-tying rebar, cutting rebar with a cut saw and placing rebar chairs appropriately
-Good communication skills
