Solaris Disinfection Inc. is seeking one (1) full-time Electronics Technologist – Embedded Systems and PCB Design, to work at our office in Oakville, Ontario.

Job Summary: Solaris is seeking an Electronics Technologist with a strong background in embedded systems, PCB design, and electronic prototyping. The candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of electronic systems used in Solaris robots’ advanced disinfection and IoT products. The role involves hands-on work with PCB assembly, embedded coding, and system-level testing, bridging hardware and firmware engineering.
Job Duties:
▪ Design, assemble, and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) for embedded and IoT devices.
▪ Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware for microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) using Embedded C/C++.
▪ Integrate and program various sensors and communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, WiFi, Ethernet).
▪ Support the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of deployed electronic systems in robotic and IoT environments.
▪ Conduct performance testing and calibration of electronic systems using lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering tools).
▪ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define electronic system specifications and ensure smooth hardware–software integration.
▪ Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and design files (KiCad, Altium Designer, Proteus, Multisim).
▪ Assist in building and testing electronic prototypes and contribute to iterative product improvements.
▪ Ensure compliance with quality standards and participate in system validation activities.
▪ Provide on-site technical support for electronic deployments and troubleshooting.

Skills Requirements/Level of Education Required:
Must have Diploma in electrical or electronics engineering technology or computer engineering technology or electronics engineering required. Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering (or similar field) preferred, but not mandatory.
Skill Requirements/Work Experience:
Must have at least 3 years of related experience in electronics design, embedded systems, and PCB prototyping. This related experience must include PCB design tools (KiCad, Altium Designer), Programming (Embedded C/C++, Python, Assembly), Controllers (STM32, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Arduino), Communications Protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, RS-232, Ethernet) and Debugging & Testing (Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Power Supplies).
