What We’re Looking For:
We welcome applications from Early Childhood Education Assistants (ECEA) and those working toward their ECE certification.
Qualifications:
Valid Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) License issued by the BC ECE Registry
Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) upon confirmation of employment
Minimum 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare program (or equivalent experience)
Passion for working with children aged birth to 6 years
Creative, open-minded, and team-oriented approach
Knowledge of child development and effective guiding/caring techniques
Understanding of BC Early Learning Framework (BC ELF), Reggio-inspired practices, and emergent curriculum (or willingness to learn)
Second language is an asset
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Legal work authorization in Canada
Flexibility to work across all programs based on operational needs
Your Role & Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of senior ECEs and management, you will:
Support the implementation of a high-quality, inclusive, Reggio-inspired early learning program for children aged birth to 6 years
Ensure children’s health, safety, and well-being
Assist children with daily care routines and foster independence
Establish and maintain positive relationships with families and caregivers
Collaborate with community service providers (e.g., Supported Child Development, speech and language consultants)
Maintain a clean and safe learning environment through light housekeeping duties
Participate in ongoing professional development (Pro D days, staff meetings, training sessions, etc.)
