Carpenter Full Time NEW

Blackfish Homes is a custom residential construction company based in North Vancouver. We are looking for an exceptionally skilled carpenter to join our team.

You will work on site at various locations in the lower mainland.

Responsibilities
– Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
– Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
– Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, light weight steel and other materials
– Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
– Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
– Instruct apprentices
– Supervise other workers (1 to 2 people)

Work conditions and physical capabilities
– Bending, crouching, kneeling
– Combination of sitting, standing, walking
– Physically demanding
– Work with minimal supervision
– Own tools/equipment (Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles, Cellular phone)
– Work sites may be outdoors, noisy, dusty

Transportation/travel information
– Own transportation
– Valid driver’s licence

Experience & Education
– Secondary school graduation certificate
– 5 years or more in Residential Construction
