Job Duties:
Blueprint Interpretation – Analyze and understand specifications from blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Layout Preparation- Develop layouts that adhere to building codes, utilizing precise measuring tools.
• Material Handling – Measure, cut, shape, and assemble various materials like wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and others.
• Construction Task – Carry out tasks such as building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.
• Trim Installation- Skillfully fit and install trim items, including doors, stairs, molding, and hardware.
• Maintenance and Renovation- Undertake maintenance, repair, and renovation activities for residences and wooden structures in diverse settings
• Supervision- Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices and other construction workers.
• Other – May need to engage in the preparation of cost estimates for clients.
Skills requirement: Completion of secondary school is encouraged. Completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience in the trade
Experience: 1-2 years preferred
Language: English
