Accounting Technician Full Time

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Accounting Technician for our facility in Hamilton, Ontario. We are offering a full-time position (40 hours per week) and an hourly wage of $26.44 per hour to the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will perform the following job duties:
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
• Understand expense accounts and cost centers
• Assisting senior accountants in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Ad hoc works assigned
Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum of two (2) year diploma in accounting, finance, business or related field
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in calculating, posting and managing accounting figures and financial records.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and ITAS software
• Proficiency in MS Office
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• English wriitten & spoken
