RPL Projects is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Decorating Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong design sensibilities, technical proficiency in space planning, and excellent organizational skills in managing decorating projects from concept to execution. This role requires translating client visions into cohesive and inspiring design plans, supported by detailed technical drawings, that elevate the look and feel of residential and commercial spaces.

Job Duties:
• Consult with clients to understand their style preferences, functional needs, and vision for their space, developing customized decorating plans that reflect their personality and lifestyle.
• Create detailed floor plans, elevations, and design development drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software to visualize layouts and articulate design intent for clients, contractors, and permitting purposes.
• Prepare preliminary design concepts, layouts, and mood boards to illustrate decorating schemes, ensuring alignment with RPL Projects Ltd.’s philosophy of creating timeless, functional, and personalized spaces.
• Develop comprehensive drawing sets and specifications for furniture, millwork, and lighting plans to guide procurement and installation.
• Estimate project costs for decorating, including furniture, accessories, materials, delivery, and labor, and present clear budgets for client approval.
• Select and source furnishings, textiles, lighting, color palettes, and decorative items to create cohesive and inviting interiors that enhance the overall ambiance.
• Coordinate with vendors, artisans, and logistics partners to ensure timely acquisition and placement of decor elements.
• Oversee on-site decorating installations, ensuring proper arrangement, styling, and finishing touches to achieve a polished and harmonious look.
• Produce and revise architectural drawings to reflect design changes and solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide clients with expert advice on space planning, color schemes, and decorative solutions that align with their vision and budget.
• Manage decorating inventory, ensuring items are well-maintained, creatively reused, and sustainably managed.
• Collaborate with photographers and marketing teams to showcase completed projects for promotional and portfolio use.
• Stay current with interior decorating trends, materials, sustainable practices, and design software to incorporate fresh and innovative ideas into projects.

Qualifications:
• A College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years in interior design.
• At least 1 year of experience in interior decorating, interior design, or a related role.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar is required.
• Demonstrated ability to produce technical drawings, floor plans, elevations, and construction documents.
• Strong aesthetic sense, with an eye for color, texture, balance, and spatial arrangement.
• Ability to create preliminary design sketches and accurately estimate project costs.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, suppliers, and team members.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid work environment.
