Laboratory Assistant Full Time

We are currently looking for someone to join our team as Laboratory Assistant who will have responsibility for the following:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collect blood, tissue, and other samples from patients following proper protocols.
2. Label, sort, and prepare samples for testing or transport to other facilities.
3. Assist technologists and pathologists in preparing and conducting routine laboratory tests.
4. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is clean and functional.
5. Prepare chemical solutions, stains, and reagents for testing.
6. Record patient information and sample details accurately into laboratory systems.
7. Maintain test result logs and ensure timely reporting of results to appropriate personnel.
8. Follow established procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of test results.
9. Monitor supplies and report shortages to supervisors.
10. Provide instructions to patients regarding specimen collection and test procedures.
11. Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients during sample collection.
12. Adhere to all health, safety, and infection control policies.
13. Dispose of biohazard materials properly and ensure the workspace complies with regulatory standards

REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or medical laboratory science or equivalent
2. 1-2 Years work experience in related area
3. Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting is an asset
4. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and testing techniques.
5. Strong attention to detail for accurate labeling and data entry.
6. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
7. Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and handling samples.
8. Ability to follow strict safety protocols and infection control procedures

Terms
1. Salary is $34.50/Hour
2. Working hours per week is 30
3. Annual salary is $53,820
4. Permanent Full-Time
