Male Residential Care Worker [NOC 44101] Full Time

A private household in Coquitlam, British Columbia, is seeking an experienced and dedicated male residential care worker [NOC 44101] to provide full-time care and companionship for an elderly gentleman with dementia. Additionally, meal preparation and light housekeeping duties will be required.
Location of Work: 738, Rochester Avenue, Coquitlam, BC, V3K 2V8
Salary- $24/ hour
Hours of work-35 hours/week, including weekends and overnights (hours will vary).
Accommodation available- A self-contained unit in the household will be provided at no cost. The successful candidate is required to live in the unit as their primary residence as a condition of employment. Benefits- 10 days’ vacation or 4% salary.
Job duties for this position requires:
• Supervise and provide personal care for the client;
• Assist client in bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene;
• Prepare and serve client nutritious meals per dietary requirements;
• Assist client with regular exercise;
• Plan and implement stimulating outings for the client in the community;
• Administer prescribed and over the counter medications;
• Plan client meals and grocery shop;
• Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning
This is a full time permanent position that we are seeking to fill. Must speak and write English.
Job Requirements:
• Formal training in caring for seniors with health conditions;
• Considerable experience providing personal care to seniors;
• Knowledge and experience in administering medications;
• Experience planning and preparing nutritious meals;
• Eligible for a driver’s license in British Columbia is preferred;
• Valid first aid certification, including CPR, is preferred.
• A criminal record check will be required as part of the application process.
