A Fish Processing Plant Labourer is a seasonal full-time position and the individual will be responsible to some or all of the following tasks:
Unload fish or shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them by hand or forklift truck to work area in fish processing plant.
Transport fish and shellfish to work area.
Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout plant and storage area manually or with powered equipment.
Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack.
Sort fish or shellfish according to size, weight and destination.
Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
Immerse fresh fish fillets or shellfish in brine solution to condition them for wrapping or freezing.
Clean work areas and equipment.
Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
Disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing.
This is a labour-intensive position requiring individuals to perform repetitive tasks and stand for long periods of time.
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Experience an asset
Language: English/French
Terms of Employment: Seasonal Full-time, average of 30 hours per week however hours varies and at times have long working hours during peak season.
Tentative Start Date of Employment: March 2025

Wage: $16.13 + 4% Vacation Pay + 4% Stat Pay
