Personal Support Attendant Full Time
I am looking for a Personal Support Attendant and Driver to work with a male quadriplegic. The job requires assistance with personal supports such as; bathing, meal preparation, transfers to and from wheelchair, along with daily living supports like general office support and help with travel
Duties
Assist with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
Organize medications and help with exercise program
Drive to appointments and recreational activities
Help with home office duties when necessary
Maintain a clean and safe living environment, keeping all areas clean and tidy
Assist with meal preparation and feeding when needed
Provide general maintenance for wheelchairs and other required equipment
Administer basic wound care
Perform any other duties deemed necessary and appropriate
Some travel involved
Experience
Previous experience in personal care is not required
Basic English is adequate, provided that the employee is willing to improve
A current BC drivers license and clean record is essential
Candidates must be comfortable working alone or in a team environment
People who love nature and travel would be uniquely positioned for this job
This position is ideal for people who enjoy working closely with a single employer. Although there are scheduled shifts, the working environment is fluid and often changes. Mechanical lifts are used but you need to be physically fit in order to help with lifting and positioning.
Must be fully vaccinated and willing to comply with provincial health standards.
Prefer someone willing to live in/or do overnight shifts, but not mandatory.
