JCT Metals Inc. seeks a Mental Health Counsellor (NOC 41301) to be responsible for the well-being of 20+ employees and will also work closely with our valued customers. The goal of this position is to take care of the mental health of all of our employees, supporting to create a mentally healthy working environment, plus if required then extending out to our valued customers and suppliers as a service.
This position will include the following duties:
Develop and implement mental health counselling programs to meaningfully assist employees and the management in determining the route to the strong mental health support within the company;
Interview employees, create and maintain confidential records;
Assess employees’ mental health;
Counsel employees and provide other means of support;
Identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals to outside-company professionals when necessary;
Assess employees’ progress within the counselling programs;
Follow up on results of counselling programs;
Prepare assessment, progress and follow-up reports;
Provide internal education on mental health and available resources to employees and potentially to our clients and partners;
Conduct research pertaining to methods and development in mental health counselling field;
Modify the mental health counseling programs when developing or applying new methods and technics;
Respond to employee’s inquiries;
Keeping confidentiality and establishing confidence in the counselling programs within the company.
Required Qualifications:
No university or college education is required but we require health and social care field certifications that attest to knowledge in mental health field;
Basic First Aid and Mental Health First Aid Certificates;
Minimum 5+ years of work experience in in the healthcare sector or social services;
Dedication to creating a safe, transparent, caring and supportive environment for all our clients and staff alike;
Strong communication and organizational skills;
Demonstrate strong character and integrity;
Strong people skills, including strong foundation in diversity and inclusion practices.
Experience working within the construction industry is an asset.
