Live-in Caregiver – Persons with Disabilities Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Caregiver to assist with two senior adults with disabilities and high medical needs located in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time, permanent position. The live-in requirement is an option. Free in-home accommodation will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include working with two senior adults with disabilities, such as Dementia and high medical needs; providing personal support such as bathing, personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, prepare and serve nutritious meals, assist in feeding and day to day life skills; undertaking laundry and light housekeeping duties; supervise and assist with daily living needs on a daily basis; attending to the emotional well-being and maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home.

Requirements
Completion of high school. Must have completed a training program in care of the elderly, care of persons with disabilities or in a related field or have the equivalent of 2 to 3 year’s experience working with elderly persons with disabilities and high medical need requirements. Must have strong English communication (reading, writing, speaking) skills and First Aid/CPR certification. Must be able to pass a Criminal Records Check. Must be willing to work flexible hours during the week and weekend.

Salary & Benefits
The position pays $24.50 per hour, based on a 40 hour work week. Benefits include free accommodation, transportation costs, health insurance, and be entitled to 4% paid annual vacation.
