We are currently looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team!
Kindred Home Care provides short and long term home support services, and respite care to individuals and families in the areas of personal care, activities of daily living, companionship, medication reminders, end of life care and home management. Overseeing financial accounting and reporting for operating companies
Review transactional level data, reconcile accounts
Prepare internal monthly financial statements
Ensure compliance activities are completed in a timely manner
Analyze monthly financial reporting, prepare forecast variance analysis
Review financial reporting with the CFO
Continuously improve financial reporting and forecasting
Prepare year-end files for external accountants and tax professionals
Overseeing property developments and relevant financial reporting
Liaise with the property manager on developments
Directly supporting an accounting team of three personnel
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Chartered Professional Accountant, or comparable understanding of accounting and relevant work experience with a willingness to learn new and changing accounting concepts
A minimum of three or more years of public accounting or financial reporting experience
Strong knowledge of enterprise resource planning concepts, data management and consolidation, Google G-suite, and Microsoft Office
Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Yardi Breeze Premier, and Salesforce considered assets
Ability to work virtually from home with minimal supervision
Effective relationship building skills, outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent critical thinking, organizational and problem solving and collaboration skills
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data
The ability to think quickly and to re-prioritize tasks in an ever-changing environment, facing multiple deadlines, while remaining calm and relational
