Specific Skills
Resolve work related problems. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Repair and maintain equipment. Organize and direct construction of fences, decks and walls. Organize and direct planting of trees, gardens and lawns. Establish work schedules and procedures. Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work.

Equipment and Machinery Experience
Small engine equipment, Pick-up truck, Forklift.

Construction Specialization
Stone garden walls.

Additional Skills
Plan and estimate labour and materials. Maintain work records and logs. Hire, supervise and schedule staff. Read blueprints and drawings.

Area of Specialization
Wood use, Landscape construction, Interior landscaping.

Own Tools/Equipment
Steel-toed safety boots.

Work Site Environment
Outdoors, noisy, dusty, and hot, work under outdoor conditions.

Transportation/Travel Information
Vehicle supplied by the employer. Valid driver’s licence.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
Work under pressure, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling. Tight deadlines.

Ability to Supervise
Staff in various areas of responsibility, 3-4 people.

Landscape and Horticulture Technicians and Specialists Specific Skills
