Job Position: Early Childhood Educator
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hourly Wage: $22.5 plus government subsidy
Work Hour: 30-40 hours/week
Work Location: 495 Howard Ave, Nanaimo, BC V9R 3S2

Trillium Montessori was established in 2006 in Nanaimo, BC with two Primary Years (3-6) classes. Our Centre is dedicated to cultivating each child’s natural curiosity and love of knowledge. We strive to create a learning environment that is inclusive, collaborative, and supportive. Our classroom emphasizes the importance of a prepared environment which gives children the freedom to explore and experience excitement when learning.
We are now seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team and support children’s growth in a nurturing environment.
Job Duties:
• Develop and deliver age-appropriate programs to foster children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Organize engaging activities, including storytelling, teaching songs, and creative games, to enhance learning and social skills.
• Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes children’s well-being.
• Guide children in developing proper habits related to eating, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Observe and assess children’s behavior and development, identify any concerns, and prepare progress reports.
• Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to discuss children’s growth, needs, and overall progress.
• May mentor and supervise early childhood educator assistants.
Qualification:
• A diploma in early childhood education or a degree in child development is required
• A valid BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate is mandatory
• A clear criminal record check is required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion and patience in interactions with children
• Knowledge of the Montessori philosophy and its practical application is preferred.
