Job Title: Concrete finishers

Position Type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 35 to 40 per week
Location: 3370 Wolfedale Road Mississauga, Ontario L5C 1W4
Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage: $40.70

Qualification and requirement:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• 7 Months to less than one year of experience is required.
• Ability to communicate, read and write in English is must.
• Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
• Must be organized and team oriented
• Ability to follow instructions and should have attention to details
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines
• Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics
• Ability to handle physical load

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Setting forms that hold concrete in place.
• Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for proper alignment.
• Placing and securing steel reinforcement such as rebar.
• Pouring Concrete:
• Directing the pouring of concrete into forms or onto surfaces.
• Spreading, leveling, and smoothing concrete using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, and floats.
• Monitoring how the wind, heat, or cold affects the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
• Finishing Concrete.
• Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces.
• Monitoring the setting of the concrete to ensure proper curing.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• Using edgers and groovers to shape and finish edges and joints.
• Sawing contraction joints in the concrete to help control cracking once the concrete has cured.
• Repair and Maintenance:
• Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces
• Communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality results.
