Meat Packing Supervisor NOC 9213 Skill Level B Employer Alzahraa Halal Meat Inc.
Job requirements – Full time 40 hours a week – 27.00/hour
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and/or Several years of experience in the food or beverage processing industry are required.
5 years or more experience with Halal “Smoked and Spicy Meats” of Middle Eastern-oriented processed meats such as Bastarma, Makanek, Martadella, Sojok, Turkey, Beef Bologne. The candidate will have exceptional taste buds to be able to introduce new spices onto fresh Halal meats and appropriately mix the right amount of these spices while adhering to the highest standards of freshness and quality set by Al Zahraa.
Halal “Smoked and Spicy Meats” of Middle Eastern-oriented processed meats such as Bastarma, Makanek, Martadella, Sojok, Turkey, Beef Bologne. Focus being on fresh Halal meats
o Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the safe activities of workers who process, package, test and grade food and beverage products including training on various aging and smoking of Halal meats including marinating techniques on fresh meat to create desired Middle Eastern tastes
o Design and refine new recipes based on shifting consumer tastes and market trends
o Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
o Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
o Educate Al Zahraa sales representatives on how Halal meats should be cut, packaged, and stored at the retail store and at the consumer’s house
o Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
o Requisition of specialty meats, spices and ingredients required for the preparation and production of the end product
o Work closely with Al Zahraa management and sales representatives to introduce new tastes based on feedback from consumers
o Refer to work orders to determine amount and type (beef, lamb, chicken, or turkey) of Halal meat to be manufactured
o Relay orders of fresh meat to butchers
o Regularly test for quality of spices to ensure tastes and quality are optimized
o Make use of testing techniques to ensure spices used are consistent from one supplier to another
o Document any variations in order to create a streamlined, consisted sourcing process
